Very striking capture! Looks almost like a colony of something growing at the bottom of a red sea. Nice work. Helen

Great experimenting, and it payed off! This reminds me of the eggs on the movie alien.

Thanks Melanie. Not quite a lava lamp. I was playing with cooking oil and coloured water and this was the result
Oil floats on top but if you sprinkle it with salt blobs fall down to the bottom. When the salt disolves they make these strange shapes before they float up again. Weird!

Penelope, I really like the red hot color...and the abstract appearance of an "alien landscape". It looks like a liquid just reaching the boiling point with the send off of bubbles toward the surface from down below. Nice shot...I can feel the heat. MFC
