Cool shot - I really like how the moon is under the arches of water!

Nice framing of the moon. You even captured some of is detail. I like this image.

Very difficult picture for me, feels like it should be great, but only comes out as cute. I left the negative space on the left hoping it would balance the bright dominance of the fountain on the right, and return the focus back to the arches. I feel good knowing an accomplished eye such as yours has seen some of the things I liked and didn't like. Thank you so much for your comments

Yes, braonm, I see it cropped...I like it better :)Just try refreshing the screen to see the change. The more I look at this, the more ways I can envision cropping it. You might even consider cropping the left side some. I tried two ways that I like...1)crop half the distance to the bottom of the first arch on the left...or,(and this way seems very appealing to me) 2)crop to eliminate a tad over half of the left side of the left most arch...doing that gives the impression that the left most arch exits the frame. It also places the main arch "pleasingly balanced" within the whole picture. Looks great "as is"...but you sure have room to experiment. MFC

I made an adjustment, the cropping we were talking about, and my small and medium images show the crop, but the original does not. Are you seeing the fountain rim cropped?

braonm, I really like the lighting and the contrast in this...the way you captured the moon under one of the water arches is a great touch. I too like the small splashes of water at the bottom. You could retain most of those by cropping out the very bottom, dark "line" up to a point where the basin's left curve is no longer visible. When I do that on screen, the top line of the bottom basin fades away as it goes left...and that change doesn't seem to take anything away from the whole image to me. Beautiful night shot. MFC

I had all the same thoughts! I wanted the splashes at the bottom, and I included the rim of the fountain for that reason. I also hoped people would see the fountain rim as another rhyming arch, just a horizontal one :( guess it didn't work. Thanks for the long comment, and encouraging words.

Braonm...Many wonderful elements in this shot..Firstly Its super how you shot the moon through the watering loops..and I love the water spilling over in the giant fountain urn, captured so well..The cascading water gives a really soft coloring and contrasts well the blackened night..One small suggestion though NOT necessary, would be the angled line at the bottom of the composition.. Difficult as the dancing water spritz is a really nice inclusion.I wonder what would happen if the pic was rotated ever so slightly..or the line slightly faded out..[I always play ]I can see why you would be loving this scene..Its beautiful as is! I scene was just so neat in person, I took a number of shots, but I struggled with how to present it. Suggestions are welcome.
