Taken at the Karum Shopping Mall, which is also where my newspaper is located. Although Turkey is a Muslim country and doesn't celebrate Christmas, they do celebrate New Year's and have a lot of the same kind of decorations up that you would see in the States over the holidays. (Note: Best viewed at original size.)

No, no wind, it's an indoor mall that now has lights strung all over the place. I think the 1/2 exposure plus no tripod gave it that look, although I was leaning down against a railing (with an anxious coworker wanting me to get it over with so we could get on our way home). I took at least three shots of this view at varying shutter speeds, and the shorter exposures had more definable lights, but I liked the lacey quality of this one. And the idea was blurry, OOF, so that's what I aimed for, as against the grain as it is for me :-). Helen
