Thanks for your comments! Yes, the area is very beautiful. It's about a 2 hour drive from my home to the middle entrance of Skyline drive so I go over a couple times each year. I don't know how far of a trip it'd be for you, but it's well worth it. It gets very busy during the fall color season so if you'd like to stay in one of the places in or around the park you better book way ahead. Skyline Drive is definitely a nice car trip to make. Most of the park though is unaccessible by motorized vehicle. There are millions of miles of marked walking trails as well as an abundance of horse trails. Phil, I like all of your entries but I think the "middle" is my favorite. It is certainly very colorful and beautiful. Including the rock wall in the foreground was a wise move; very nice shot indeed. I understand that the park consist of almost 200,000 acres! I have never been there but might visit next spring.
