The Nargile Shop

Taken at an open bazaar in Ankara's old district about 15 minutes before the sun went down, although my camera seems to be still set on Japanese time. These are nargile, sometimes called hooka or water pipes, and are very popular in Turkey.

Deb, at first I thought the boxes contained tea, including apple tea, which is popular here, but now I would have to agree with Joe that they are probably boxes of tobacco, which would make sense to keep with the nargile. It looks like at least some of the boxes are written in Arabic or Farsi, so even if I could make them out I couldn't read them :-). And thank you all for the comments! Helen
