Trip to Nostalgia*
by Deb

Had not planned on using selective color, since I thought it would draw the eye away from the hand. However, the writing on the baggage claim ticket had only the color red w/no outline to it, so when I hit "Desaturate," the claim ticket looked like a blank piece of gray paper.

Oh, I see! Most interesting, Stephane. I can't help but wonder if I have the Photoshop skills or the patience to execute something like your example. I am somewhat of a rank amateur when it comes to Photoshop. Thanks bunches for taking the time to show me what you meant.---Deb

Katherine and Stephane, thanks for the kind words. Stephane, I'm not clear on what you would like to see different about this image. The suitcase is approx. 19"x26"x6," so it's not THAT large. I did want the focal point to be the hand, given our topic. If you have the time, give me a few more details about what you had in mind for this image.---Deb

Nice idea - I like the composition and the desaturation!

This is a good idea very well executed. Is the suitcase so large that it is impossible to see the front side? That would have been cool to see it with the tag not on the suitcase but in the air.

Thanks for the input, David and Melanie. Melanie, this suitcase was found in an old abandoned apartment building. Oh, the stories that it might hold! The door knob I posted in the last challenge, also came from that building.---Deb

Neat idea Deb; the hand ready to go someplace exotic perhaps. I like the selective coloring on the tag. That suitcase looks like some old ones my folks used to have. Melanie (mlynn)

Hi Deb. I like the B&W selective colour you have done here. Very nostalgic indeed.
