It sounds like Arn figured it out the moment you posted the shot. Why am I so not surprised ? Its a classic MFC -John(ebones)

Beautiful, creative, and almost sensual image of a couple of paper clips Anonymous. It definitely falls under the category of "I wish I'd thought of that" :). Melanie (mlynn)

An International Man of Mystery graces us with a curvacious study of the humble paper clip. Man of Mystery, I like the way the shadows from the foreground subject blur to meet the clip in the background. The shadow is as part of the image as the clip itself combining to form a new whole. Dof compliments the lighting. It's all good. - Simon Bennett.

Arn, the clips were bent first, one up then out, the other one up then down. Clip positioning and lamp placement was experimental getting the shadows to lengthen and line up like this. I played with this for about 15-20 minutes. Then a lens hood was positioned in front of the light source for a spotlight effect. The hood was rapidly 'jiggled' as the shot was taken to blur the margin of the 'light circle' some. I spent another 15-20 minutes taking shots from various angles and liked this one best.

I'm quite certain of the identity of this image's creator... Notice the use of light and shadows as exhibit "a". Exhibit "b" would be the well thought out composition and placement of objects in the frame. The "bare essentials" have been used to get the most of them, the frame is not cluttered with distracting elements. Sorry, but it was obvious to me ;) What I would like the artist to tell though, is this: how much work was it? How long did it take to get the clips the right shape and in correct position? -Arn

May I guess: Isn't the MFC's style? I mean, unusual angle of common things and very very creative.

Being "anonymous" is just for a little fun. The host knows my identity, and I'll reveal it when everything is over. Thanks for your comments.

Absolutely love this shot. Great comp, lighting and colour. I was trying to see if you left your initials in the paperclips and shadows but after hours of looking got bored. Very nice...Rob

Huh! Paper clips! Who'd've thunk it? Really like the spotlight lighting here. Looks like they're doing yoga of some sort. Anonymous, you're quite creative.---Deb

Very good idea. Nice angle and DOF - makes this look very 3D. The b&w and lighting also works very well. -Arn
