Taken near a lake I live by, this was a closeup shot from a woodpile near the shore. Obviously something had put these "openings" in the wood. They appeared to be created by some natural means. Nonetheless, their placement was interesting, as well as the surrounding wood textures.
I used a Canon 250D and an MCON35 stacked on top of my 717.
Lou, I really like the texture here... and the sense of mystery with the two holes. Nice composition, good lighting, & effective DOF. MFC

great detail on this... glad that you left the bark in the shot to add some texture and the blurred background adds great depth to the shot. well composed.
Nice Composition, Lou of a beautifully weathered wood surface..were there more little perfect holes or just these? some little creature with a round saw blade for a nose or?I like how something we dont know has made its mark,Also the angle you have this shown at,... makes it appear to be of giant diameter .. Love all the cracks..Good find! irish_eye
