Neat image, Melanie - the strong colors and closeup of the subject really get ones attention. Thanks for sharing your story of how you came to find this treasure. Bev

Love the Colour and Crop of this vintage piece. Very attracting! I especially like the little windshield blade in the upper right that breaks[oomf !] the harmonious symetry..irish_eye

Thank you everyone! Mike, I hiked up to some old abandoned mine sites on Friday, as I'm working on some abandoned mine reports. I decided it was a good day to actually get out on the ground and see them, as the snow is mostly gone now. I'd been researching the histories of some of these places all winter, but hadn't seen them yet, and wanted some pictures to go with my reports. Since I was there taking pictures anyways, I decided to try to get some 'symmetrical' shots ;). I arrived home about sunset, downloaded them, processed a few...and posted these. The next morning when I booted up my computer, the entire partition (on my external drive) where I'd been working with these, was no longer accessible (and no longer had a name or any apparent content). I spent all day yesterday trying to figure out what happened (and frantically backing up some other files on other partitions)...but no luck. I finally decided to reformat that partition, so that I can at least use that 60 gb of space. Luckily, I still had all of the originals (well, those ones anyways) on my camera's memory---so I still have those, but don't have my processed versions. So, to make a long story short, I think I'll try what you suggest, since I have to start over anyways :). Melanie

Beautiful color and detail on this old vehicle, Melanie. A good subject choice...where did you find it? (*)I can imagine selecting the truck (and maybe rear windows) to convert the background to all-blue in order to further accentuate the symmetry here; but you might like it better just the way it is too. Could be fun to try it and compare. MFC
