Thanks Dave, I for one did not think about the sparks. Still I always have a clear filter over the lens. Also I was about 20 feet away from the action :-)

Nice shot. Just for some info, I'm a welder. Don't let any sparks hit the lens of
your camera. The hot metal fuses to the glass and stays there. Sometimes you can
pick it off, but it will leave a pit. If you have a safety filter on, no biggie.
Just thought you should know. Welders use plastic clear lens in their welding hoods
because of this. (and because plastic is cheaper to replace than glass) dave v
