school lunches

by andy

mom used to put the lunch bags by the front door so we couldn't possibly forget them, could we?
she always left the front door ajar, because we were carrying all manner of books, school pets, projects and more

mom was thoughtful like that!

Perfect image to represent the start of a school day - I love the warm colors!

I agree with Jim about the door. The photo is very touching to me...as the mom of 3 grown children and many years of 3 brown bags waiting to go... would guarantee of few tears if this was on the front of my mother's day card. The lighting is great here. Very creative and your Mom deserves a copy of this one! Meem

Hi Andy,

I LOVE the left 3/4ths of this image. The table with lunches tells a wonderful story. I'm wondering about the open door, or even why the door at all? Two things about it bother me - first, it's open. The title should then have been "Forgotten Lunches" which I could connect to. Secondly, it's too obvious the door is new with the bright brass, and it seems to contradict a bit with the mood of the photo. But I still do really love this shot. Jim Fuglestad

This nice part of this beautifully crafted image is that it really makes you feel there, ready to go to school. having the door open is a great detail, because it gives the impression that we are picking up the food/lunch and ready to go.

Great image Andy.

very nice lighting and subtle colors! The question is, which kid likes chooses the banana over an apple? :)

Well, we used to make our own lunches before school but we were not your average school kids family :-) Your image is bound to bring back childhood memories for many STF'ers :-) You did a really fine job with this shot, Andy. Markjay

Not so long ago I was making three lunches each morning for my kids, never thought I'd miss it but I do.
Great shot Andy. Linda L.

P.S. Any twinkies in there? I loved when my mom put them inside my lunchbag.
