Thanks again everyone. No Nee I didn't really take any classes. I have taken some painting classes recently, but that's all. I use my photos for my subjects to paint for class. I was planning on entering more and voting, but was gone all week. :-( I had tons of tree shots. Barely got this one entered.

As usual, a perfect composition bringing the focus on the main subject! Gosh, Lisa, I'm always so impressed by how you take the photos that most of us would miss...did you take lessons in composition (please say yes, LOL!) or does it just come naturally (in which case, the rest of us are just plain out of luck!). Well done...~Nee

Love the stark tree against the vivid blue sky. Very nice. Vikas

Thanks Eric and this part of Colorado is not under fire at all. It was a bad smokey day in Denver on June 18, 2002, but Indian Peaks Wilderness was a beautiful sky blue sunny day. Rocky Mountain National Park should be the same since it is just north of Indian Peaks Wilderness. Usually subalpine, 9,500 feet and above, forests only have forest fires every 200 to 300 years. The one in Durango has burned a bit at that level, but not the Hayman Fire. Indian Peaks also had some snow still left to melt which I was a bit surprised.

Sure hope this is still standing after the fires. Beautiful scene. -- Eric (elamont)
