Tilki has been very forunate to have found you :-) She does sound like a Spitz especially as to the barking :-) - Lovely shot - I have to be also quite careful with the white in Jimmy's coat(red and white Border Collie)...Bee

I've heard of American Eskimos but can't find them listed in my dog book (maybe they really are just German Spitzes with a new name :-)). I am in Turkey, which is where we found her, although she has actually traveled completely around the world, to Okinawa, the States, Europe and back here. "Hyper" doesn't adequately describe Tilki. Plus she is unfriendly at first to strangers, dislikes children, barks a lot, is extremely demanding, not "perfectly" house trained and unbelievably spoiled. How about yours? Helen

the american eskimo is the spitz family. apparently after the war they changed the name to american eskimo... but that's over here in northamerica. I'm not sure where you are.

very cute pup though

now how hyper is she?

Hi lenwoodbluz,

As far as we know she's a Spitz (mix, maybe, due to her ears), but we're not sure since she was abandoned on the streets of Ankara. I find I often have to correct the color cast with pictures of her, especially those taken indoors without flash. I don't have as big a problem with WB in outdoor shots, but this one was a nightmare as her forehead was really overexposed. She photographs well in the snow, though :-). Helen

nice shot..... what kind of dog is that....looks like loki...american eskimo???
I think you pointed that out in the last challenge

do you find it hard to get an appropriate white ballance on him/her when you are doing a fullbody shot??
thanks for the pic
