Girl with a White Hairclip
by JoeSchmoe

Through lighting and texture, I tried to give this image the look of a Vermeer or similar old master. Not that I succeeded, but it was fun trying.

Nice work bringing out the "Texture" of the photo. A nice shot of the cute girl. The difference between a "kid snapshot" and your photo shows what can be achieved with a little forethought! Bill B

Captured at the right moment indeed, adorable. The expression on her face, the tilting of her head and the tiny hand.. it brings accross the beauty if innosence Hewy

Thanks for all the kind comments, which I really appreciate. MFC, to achieve the canvas effect, I used the texture filter in Photoshop (filter > texture > texturizer > canvas).

This is one of those "just the right moment" photos. A marvelous look as she appears to be peeking around the chair to see what's happening. Super. ... R.J. (Imager)

I love her curious expression - she's so cute! I like the texture effect - it looks like a painting.

She's precious, Joe...and the hairclip does stand out. You captured a really cute moment of curiosity/wonder...nice colors, effective lighting, and engaging composition. I really like the textured canvas effect here...a good idea for this theme. It's subtle & not overdone. Nice photo...I like what you achieved here. Can you share more about the canvas effect technique? MFC
