* Exposure was fairly straightforward (auto), light was actually coming from extreme right, but have recoloured and increased contrast in psp. Original is athttp://www.pbase.com/stevecheetham/gallery/hull

The 'Wolds Way' is actually a 40 mile or so walk that starts at the Humber Estuary (UK)and finshes near a small coastal town called Filey. The walk passes through a range of hills known as the Yorkshire Wolds hence the name. You can check outhttp://www.woldsway.gov.uk/introduction.htm for some more info. I hadn't noticed this stone before and was by the estuary taking some shots of the Humber Bridge when I noticed the light catching the stone and though it would be good for the texture challenge.
Thanks for the comments.

Steve, I like your choice of subject & how the letters are chiseled into the stone. I also like how your statuesque subject contrasts with the background. Is it common for other waterways to be marked like that? Good find. (*)I like it "as is"...how difficult was it to achieve good exposure with the bright background? MFC
