Hi Mike, Yes this is Mars. When this photo was taken we were about 1 mile above the surface descending at a rate of 100 feet per minute. JLK

Neat idea, Jeff...I can imagine a Mars landing with this shot. I hope you'll tell us at some point exactly what the texture is we're looking at here. Or is it really Mars?! :-) (*) A little more lighting/contrast might make this even better.MFC

Yes Ric we saw your ( UFO ) on the way to Mars. I can now tell you that it no longer is a UFO.
Sorry to burst your bubble but your UFO is actually a flying bathtub with a velocity of Mach 8
creating warm weather in the winter time down under on the opposite side of the earth.
This cycle in the weather is forecast to continue for the next billion years. JLK
