Excellent composition, Mike! If you had not told me what this was, I would never in a million years (wink) have guessed. I thought I was seeing what looked like a slotted screw head on the top of the closest elevation in the foreground? Fascinating image. Mark J

Thank you both. Andy, these are "nautiloids", fossil cephalopod mollusks with a straight (or coiled), chambered shell. The only living member is the "Nautilus". They are/were related to squids. MFC

Mike, Another appealing image, nicely presented. Perfect DOF used to draw attention to the circular area. I like the interesting striped repeating lines too. It has a very earthy, organic feel. Roberta
