How far personal photography has come in the last century. Roll film introduced personal photography to the masses early last century, and soon box cameras were made by the millions. Now, digital cameras are threating film cameras in popularity for both personal and professional use. It is doubtful anyone could have predicted the current level of digital photography 25 years ago. What will be the next innovation in photography? Any guesses?

This film take-up reel is from an old box camera I own. It is painted black with embossed letters on each end. I took this photo with the light reflecting from the reel to show the embossed letters.
