Jimson Weed by Eric Hatch*

This is one tough plant. Highly toxic. I found it growing out of the crack between an asphalt parking lot and a concrete retaining wall at 7:55 AM this morning. Macro, manual, f6.5, 1/640 and fill flash to knock out most of the hideous background and a radial gradient to hide the rest.

Eric, the radial color gradient simplifies the composition, compliments the circular shape of the flower, & provides effective background contrast. The flower itself has really nice exposure and detail. Nicely done. MFC
