Awaiting Passengers
by Vikas

This was taken today, i.e. September 14, 2003, in New Delhi, at a taxi stand, whilst it was heavily overcast and drizzling, which explains the water on the ground. Wanted to capture a shot like this for the challenge and went around the city scouting for the appropriate location. Luckily, found one about 15 minutes away. :-) These cabs are actually Ambassador cars, which are a version of the 1920's Oxford Morris, I believe. They have a certain old world charm to them and are actually quite comfortable to sit in.

Love the old Ambassador's - spent a month out in India over August. Spent quite a bit of time down on Jai Singh road off from Connaught Place.

I like both of these, Vikas...but the reflections add a special touch that I really like here. Nice shot. MFC

Vikas, I love the repeating pattern created by the taxis. Also, the relection and lines on the pavement add even more. Love the sharp contrast of the black and yellow. Roberta

Very cool image. Iespecially like how each one is a "perfect copy" of the others. Did you notice the checkered image in the reflexions but not on the car images? Very Cool Bill B

Thank you Mark for your suggestion and as you can see, have implemented it. :-) Have also added a brief description of where this shot was taken. ..... Vikas.

Great shot, Vikas! Nice composition.. as usual :-) and the catch refelections are a nice touch. Where is this image taken, just for curiosity sake? Why does the nearest vehichle have a 'messed up' license tag? I would have been really tempted to just cut and paste a fresh one in there lol Mark J
