Old Mission Peninsula - Grand Traverse Bay - Lake Michigan

This lighthouse was built in 1870 and stands on the 45th parallel
- or half-way between the North Pole and the Equator.

Bev, I love this one! The lighthouse is really picturesque, so white against the blue sky. The details like the brick chimney and the barrels stacked by the shed add to the impression that it is from another time. Lisafx

Very pretty lighthouse - it looks like someone lives there. I'm going to have to get a globe - I'm really surprised that that far north is half way to the equator.
