10th Place (tie)Aging Wickedly

By Mark J

*** BEST VIEWED IN ORIGINAL SIZE ***

This is the ceramic wick mechanism from
inside my 1955 antique NYC railroad oil lamp.

It is aging but, very gracefully as you can see... still
in very good condition! The wick is moved up and down
to allow larger or smaller flame, by turning the rod
you partially see in the image. The lamp itself is
rather interesting, in that it has three round glass
windows to allow the light to be emitted, one of the
windows is bright red glass.

Mark, Very nice image. I like the monochromatic tones. I also like the limited depth of field. Fine work! Roberta

Well Mark you've done it again. You found something very original that fits the topic, looked at it from a very interesting viewpoint and showed it to us in a technically almost perfect way. Hewy

Nicely photographed, Mark...nice tones, effective DOF, and unusual subject matter. MFC
