I like this image for its color and tonality. The unusual composition, witht he subject leaving the frame, seems to suit and reinforce the general mood of the picture. As a study in depression and withdrawal, it's very powerful. I hope your friend is in therapy!

In terms to the contest theme, I have a little trouble seeing how this is a self-portrait. Frankly, I hope it's not! Eric Hatch

I don't know if it's a real photo or a photoshopped one, but it's certainly the best photo in this challenge from the artistic, aesthetic and technical point of view. Unfortunately, it will not win, even though it should. Michael V.

A beautiful photo-- it looks like something from a book cover and certainly conveys the message in your statement. Good job! --Nancy/JoseNoway

This photo is great, her hair almost echos into the background. Great Job. - Todd

I also like her placement in the photo. It draws your attention to her and then off into the distance. This supports the thoughtful feeling. Ann C

I agree with Vikas. This is a wonderful mood piece. The expression of the girl and the gloomy background really reinforce the impression of pondering...Lisafx
