Ann Times Six

* Which is the real me? They all are. I had fun doing this one. I took a bunch of timed self portraits and made a composite.

This is an updated version of this image. In this one I eliminated the glare on my glasses in pictures one and six. I also cleaned up some of the white background showing through my hair. The pink background was created in photoshop. The original background was a window with venetian blinds. I really appreciate all the comments people put on the original so I am copying them all over to this one. Thanks everyone. Ann

I've come back to this image three times!! This is just such a fun image and I'm envious of how your PS skills have developed, Ann. The work you put into this image, was well worth every minute. You should enlarge this and hang it up in your classroom at the college. Just to let everyone know that if they shoot you down, there's 5 more of you to deal with LOL Mark J

Thanks for your comment. To answer your question, I used the magnetic lasso tool to create marching ants around my figure. Then I reversed the selection and used the tool that turns the selection into a mask (forget the name). Used the paint brush to neaten up the mask to accurately match my image. Returned the mask to a selection and used edit cut to remove the background. I used the eraser tool to do final clean-up. Each figure is a separate layer and there is a background pink layer under them all. Hope that helps. Ann

Extremely well done...but in the back of my mind I'm thinking that maybe your parents had sextuplets? Lol, just kidding...again, very clever and nicely done. An excellent job cropping out the background (the window and Venetian blind)...how did you do it so well? What tool did you use in photoshop? Im dying to know because when I try to do something like that, I usually use the eraser around the edges of the figure but it never comes out right.

Ann, as the others have noted, this is very well done. Did you photoshop the background in (the color is so constant)? You can definitely feel some of your personality bursting through the image. My favorite "look" is the one on the far left. --Mike Ezell

Fantastic Ann - well thought out and executed. Self portraits seem to be difficult for most but you make it look relaxed and easy. Congrats - Simon Bennett.
