So here's the funny part of the story. I had my tripod, and I was sitting on a towel, but I don't own a remote. So what I had to do was set the timer and press the shutter. I had no idea what I was going to get because the photo would be taken about 10 seconds after the timer was started.

But even with that issue, the people in front of me kept moving around. I wasn't sure at all how it would look with the people, or if they would move and be blurry. Basically, I got really lucky that everyone stayed in one place for this photo and that the timer went off at a good moment!

Fabulous perspective!

I like the silhouettes in the foreground and the contrast of the fireworks and tower (tower?). The tower is a bit centered for my taste but, the people silhouettes formation frames this so nicely, I had to change my mind :-) Mark J

Nicely composed. The silhouette frame of people is very effective. I also really like seeing texture and detail in the monument. Michael Puff

Good perspective. I like the clarity and solidness of the Monument in the midst of the fleeting fireworks. Nicely done! Helen

Beautiful image Brian, I too like how the silhouettes frame the shot. Melanie (mlynn)

I love how the silhouettes frame the fireworks, which in and of themselves are beautifully shot. JoeSchmoe

Good sense of perspective with the silhouetted observers, Brian...beautiful sky color and a dramatic light show around the nicely lit monument . MFC
