Slowly to the Light

I drew two black lines (like antennae) on a piece of white paper.
Placed a snail shell on the paper. Applied strong light with a
desk lamp from the left, partially blocked by another piece of
paper with a "V" cut out (to simulate light rays).
Converted to B&W, then applied a reverse gradient.

Very clever - the shadow cast by the shell becomes the snail body. Very effective. I gather this is what you intended. What thought processes did you go through to execute this idea? - Simon Bennett.
