The Shaker Way
by MFC

Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky

The Shakers are renowned for the simple life. Men and women lived as brothers and
sisters in large communal dwellings, each gender occupying their own half of the same
building. Their architecture was simple and mirror-like, reflecting their lifestyle.

Wow...Very Cool shot! The upper part is sorta like an optical illusion. Nice exposure and keen eye for a unique photo. Crisp and beautiful exposure to it. Bill B

Nice symetry and balance. I find my eyes going up and down the curved lines of the stairways.

Really striking image! I love how you have managed to suggest graceful curves in the plain, straight lined shaker architecture. I have been to Shakertown and your picture makes me want to go back. Lisafx

MFC, I like this one for it's lines and contrasts. Great shot! It always amazes me that so much beauty can be found in such simplicity.---Deb
