Sanliurfa (Urfa), Turkey

This is an old (pre-digital) picture of Rizvaniye Mosque in Sanliurfa, southeastern Turkey. The entire area is associated with the Prophet Abraham, who is said to have lived in Urfa at some point in his life. The pool is known as the Balikli Gol (Fish Lake), and as the story goes, anyone who catches one of the carp living in the pool will go blind, so these are the most pampered (fat) fish in Turkey.

An interesting piece of architecture/reflection from a good perspective, Helen. MFC
