I created a gaussian blur layer, then erased parts of the layer to let original sharpness show through.
The effect is best seen in the *original* size option.

Nice one, Nee. Looking at the thumbnail, I just thought it would be an ordinary candid, perhaps an awkard one because the subjects' backs are to the camera, but looking at the full sized picture, it's great. You captured a moment and a color. The blur effect also effectively focuses attention on the red back of the blond girl's t-shirt. JoeSchmoe
