David: Not surprised with your thoughts. I've seen (and admired) your B&Ws before. One can sense your enjoyment of this medium (e.g.http://www.pbase.com/image/12240266). I have a half-dozen techniques for B&W conversion. In this case, I think I simply (a) desaturated, (b) duplicated to a new layer, (c) changed blend mode to Multiply, then (d) used the layer opacity to dial in the desired tone. Something like that. Again, thanks for your comments; I love the dialogue. Joe Reilly

Mark and Mike: Thanks very much for your comments as well. You both are terrific hosts (formal or informal) for the challenges!

Joe, I agree, this is very nice in B&W...maybe a bit more abstract, like David says. Forced to choose, I'd pick the color version this time. Just think, if both versions were available for sale, you'd have different buyers for the "same" photo...I think that's quite a compliment. MFC

Joe - yea I really enjoy this in Black and White IMHO - a better abstract - when it is green you know
right away what it is. Did you do this with Channel Mix in PS? (if so what % did you use). Again the
tones are real nice.

I like it in B & W, I LOVED it in color. Glad you left the color version around in the galleries :-) Mark J
