Mike, thanks for your suggestion. The image has been re-edited with your idea. I think blurring the background does indeed let the eye focus on the stem shapes of the lavender. Next time I'll try to do it with the camera rather than post processing. Again, thanks for the idea. Michael

Michael, I really like the color, detail, and stem shapes of the lavender. If you were to take this exact shot again, I'd try to get the background to blur out even more by selecting for less DOF. My eyes would then pay more attention to the main subject rather than keep considering the interesting water action behind. Just an opinion(*). MFC
