Lone Rasperry *
by JaimeZX

Near Johnny's Ribs, at Columbus Lake

While looking for the best place to shoot a beautiful sunset, I stumbled across a rasperry plant which was almost being strangled by other weeds.

I like this image. The contrast between the plump red berry and the bright green foliage really works! Lisafx

My wife and I like this image a lot. The way the raspberry jumos out at you and yet remains hidden by the green foliage. My wife had one word to describe this: "fleshy." Coming from a fruit lover, that's a compliment of a high order!

JaimeZX, I'm usually personally not a big fan of foreground blur; but I like it here, given your impression about portraying the reality of the scene...the raspberry really looks "alone" and really looks like it's getting "strangled" by weeds. Nice color contrast...guess that's how you found it :) MFC
