I agree with Joe, Bev. Yours was one of my two favorites in the Elligible Gallery. I was hunting everywhere for it :-). Lisafx

That's too bad that you can't host the next one, Bev. Your remains one of my favorites. Perhaps someone could offer to do it for you by proxy if you win? I would offer myself, but I have little confidence in my webpage creation and maintenance abilities (I'm at little risk of winning myself, so no worries there). JoeSchmoe

Simply stunning in every way, Bev. Helen

I've moved this image to the exhibition gallery because even though I would not expect it to win - there are so many exceptional entries! - in the unlikely event that it would...I would not be able to host the next challenge. I have NO internet connection at home!!! thanks to growing trees blocking the satellite signal (and determined after hours on the phone with technical support). We're now on the tree trimmer's list.
So, good luck to all; voting will again be a "challenge" Bev

Bev, this is really exquisite. Soft curves abound in opposition and in harmony, leading my eye forever gently across the image. Truly awesome. Wishing you absolute speed and success on your camera repairs. Michael Puff

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to comment. This is probably my last entry for awhile. I've "been approved" to send my camera in for repairs. A long time ago I decided I could live with BFS and DLS, but now the focus ring is falling off, so I guess I'll ask them to take care of all 3 issues. I bought an extended 4-year warranty, along with the camera, at Circuit City. This is a GE Warranty Management Service Contract, and Precision Camera Repair, Chicopee, MA will do the actual repair. Has anyone had any experience with this company? Can you tell I'm a little nervous about sending off my camera for "approx. 3 weeks" :-) Bev

Bev: For me the softness of the image makes it. The form of the flower is soft and you have brought that out beautifully. Fremiet

Hi Bev - This is one of the best images of Bleeding Hearts that I've seen - well done. -Faye

Beautiful composition and perfect depth of field. I know how hard it is to get bleeding hearts in focus with the background blurred because I've tried. ;) Good job. Ann C

Wonderful, on a couple of dimensions: Composition and the comforting pattern therein; colors and tones; and the DOF which adds to the color scheme but still emphasizes your foreground. My eyes wanted a bit more sharpness on the foreground, but a wonderful image! Nicely done start for the gallery! Joe Reilly

You really suprised me: I went on pbase to upload my first image when I found out you had choosen exactly the same subject! I won´t post my version because yours is defenitely better. It has a great use of DOF, nice sharpness and a very good composition... Hewy

Nice work, Bev! Your composition leads the viewers eye from left to right through the image and, I really like that. The color contrast between the pink, white and greens is really beautiful and, your presentation (frame) is not overdone. Mark J

Wow Bev, this is beautiful! I have bleeding hearts, but for some reason they never look like this when I photograph them ;-). Lisafx

This is very, very beautiful. I'm jealous. Hee hee

The contrast in colors is striking, and as others have said, the depth of field is just right to emphasize the subject.

Nice Bev. I like the natural curve to it! Bill B

Nice, flowing composition, Bev, with eye-catching color contrast and effective DOF. You captured your "hearts" well. MFC

Hi Bev, I really enjoyed the composition of this one. And the natural symmetry kind of says "close enough". Nice. Jim/Shutter

Beautiful, intriguing image, and wonderful title. Perfect combination of composition, color, sharpness and bluriness.
