A sadness and sickening feeling came over us as we approached the object to discover the helicopter’s pediatric backboard; floating forlornly and ironically in need of rescue.

We still love the refuge, but I don’t know that I will ever visit it again without thinking of the tragic loss of the helicopter and its pilot.
