As the title suggest, it's ten hours into the birth of my daughter. This is the point at which the midwives are considering bringing the specialist down, because the labour is starting to slow up, and the contractions stop. The baby is just showing, but she seems stuck. The specialist will in fact come down. She'll try a suction cap on the baby's head, but that won't budge her, so eventually we'll go down to the theatre and my wife will have a caesarian. At 2.20, three or so hours after this, Lydia will be born.
