The top cylinder has a paper plate with image exposed onto it. As the cylinders turn the plate applies the image to the blanket cylinder which has a rubber blanket on it. Below these cylinders is one more cylinder, called the back cylinder. The paper is fed between the blanket cylinder and the back cylinder as pressure is exerted between the 2 cylinders transferring the image to the paper.
