Roberta you did an excellent job composing the lighting and shadows. It has a very interesting concept to it. Something about it looks familiar... good work

Wonderfully creative, Roberta. Love the lighting, perspectives, and your impressive PS skill! I almost missed this because the thumbnail really doesn't do it justice. Bev

Ok Mark~ I did all the shots in the same lighting conditions, varying the exposures on the backgammon board and the model so I could match up the best combination of the two shots that I would use. I used a combination of natural lighting and a 500 watt halogen. I used PS to erase the background behind the model, rotate her body to match the angle of the gameboard. Then I scaled her down to the proper size, then layered her onto the board. I used burning and dodging to lighten or darken areas, adding highlights on her hands, forearm, and left knee. I burned in shadows near the gamepiece and feet, and added detail on the contour of the face by slightly burning it in. The shadows on the gameboard that her arms would cast were airbrushed in, as well as shadows under her right hand, legs and feet. I also airbrushed shadows on and near the gamepiece, which was another layer. I enlarged the gamepiece in the foreground to give it the proper perspective. The edge of the table just happened to be a great spot for her feet- a pleasant surprise! I purposely made the game piece a bit illuminated to draw attention to the move. Thanks for asking~ it was lots of fun to do! Roberta F.

Excellent job! I stare at this wondering not only how you did it, but also how you did the shadowing on your model to match the lighting. Or...what spell did you cast on her to transform her to that size...and did you return her to normal yet? Mark
