Although there are many styles of playing mah-jongg, this would be a knockout hand in almost all of them. In the Japanese style, this one is called Chuurenpoutou (nine consecutive treasure lanterns) and is worth up to 40,000 points (the maximum).

Great shot, Howard. I like the vivid colors and details of the tiles, not to mention the reflection in the table top. Makes me want to relearn the game. Played casually many years ago.
