Oakley Shades & Shadows
by Mike Ezell

In this shot, I was trying to incorporate both components of this challenge (the shadow from the top and the silhouette from the side) in one image. The is image is a re-shoot of my earlier submission, with adjustments based on suggestions by Ro and MFC (a big thanks to them for their suggestions). This time I shot the sunglasses with a more direct angle (as opposed to slightly looking down) and with some additional lighting to just highlight the edges of the frames.

Mike, this is a very interesting shot. Excellent setup and capture of it. You have turned the ordinary into a work of art. Bill B

I like this very much. I couldn't figure out what it was until I read your description and I liked that mysterious feeling it gave. Cool abstract. Ann

Nice work, and I like the three dimensional and sculptural effect you've achieved. Eric Hatch

Mike, it's really hard to get a silhouette with a dark shadow behind...I think you accomplished that with the touch of highlight on the frame...good exercise and result. MFC
