Thanks Arn, Mike, Simon! Well I was thinking twice whether this woudl qualify for the theme. Certainly not a clear yes. Where it is simple or less is in the number of different objects in the image. Tiles, pillars, leafs. On the other hand the play of light and shadows make it more "complicated". Time will tell whether I find a better fitting entry!

There's a lot of information in this shot which is why I reckon it doesn't grab me as a thumbnail. The theme is Less is More, which this does on certain levels, but the amount of reference points make it More is Less for me.
I love the play of light and shadow here, Frank...and the way you composed this. Neat how the shadow of the pedestrian breaks the overall pattern. This works well as a B&W image...well taken! MFC
I do like the division to light and shadow here. The light of the setting sun helps simplify the scene. Still, the texture of the tiles on the ground helps keep interest.
