This is great. The title is so important for this photo. A great story telling photo. - Shay

I actually never intended to use a raw egg because one it would too messy and two, I thought the fried egg would make the shot even weirder. When I look at it now it reminds me of an "X-Files" crime scene where they can't figure out how the poor guy died. AVB

Super image, great splash of yellow in the midst of otherwise subdued tones. - R.J.

Awsome. like debadguy I was thinking raw would be even more dramatic, like it fell from above. CindyD

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I actually never saw the Shining so the similarity is just lucky I guess. I never did try this with a raw egg since this was how the image originally popped into my head. For the same reason I never thought to put the egg shells on the same side. I wish I could see the comparison now that I think about it. Something to try next time. Thanks - AVB

Excellent concept and execution. References to 'The Shining' are right on. I just wish you put both egg shells on the same side -- I find the symmetry forced and distracting. - bluedot.

The title, the photo, the perspective are all right on...I love your subtle sense of humor. The whole thing comes together very nicely. The only question was whether you tried to see if the "fallen comrade" could have been raw...or was that too messy? (debadguy)

Excellent photo, truly made richer by the title. You must have thought this through very carefully! Congrats! Erichocinc

Oh, this is too wonderful for words! I laughed when I saw it in the forum thread, but it's even better in person, so to speak. Perfect in every way! Helen

man, this is a winner, i laughed out loud right away, just by looking at the thumbnail and when i saw the bigger version i really could see the color, light, shadows of this once again from a great picture - ymer

Stop it. I can't take much more of this. I can only laugh so hard. Shutter

Ah - now I know why I'm haunted by this. Does anyone recall the two dead girls that keep appearing in the movie "The Shining"? For whatever reason - the way the eggs are standing - they remind me of that scene. But they would not have had the same effect without the shadow on them. The depth of this single detail is incredible if it can evoke such feelings.

WOW WOW WOW! This one is freaking haunting! The lighting and shadow is spectacular! Composition, subject, etc. all spot on. It makes you want to play taps, or salute or something.

The host better give us 25 voting points this time.
