The first Corvette: the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. The night before the car was introduced, the Corvette emblem/symbol had to be completely redesigned since one of the crossed flags contained the American flag, and GM/Chevy decided the use of this was both illegal and improper. The American flag was replaced by a flag of the Chevy "bowtie". The emblems for the display car had to be designed, manufactured, and fitted onto the car overnight.
