Thanks for the comments. I believe the colors are due to "bacteria" living in the "Hot" water and when spots dry up the sun then bleaches it white. Yellowstone is an AWESOME place to visit. Side note...kinda odd to see Pelicans there!.

What a splendid shot, Bill - and a perfect illustration of the power of wide angle photography. The textures and colors in that foreground are nothing short of sumptuous! I can almost feel and taste these crystals - although I probably wouldn't want to taste them ;-)
