Fire and Ice... and Snow

Just to prove that one *can* shoot WA landscapes in winter ;-)

Confession: I inadvertently shot this at ISO800 with my old V1 and 0.7X WA conversion lens.
Because of the noise, I converted to B&W, which gave it the Tri-X Pan look - or close ;-)

Jerry, I like the moody lighting and composition here. The grainy sky balances the grainy snow really well to my eyes...I like the overall effect. Nice photo! MFC

Thanks, jp. I made an attempt at NR, but was getting some ugly artefacts, so that's when I decided on the B&W and Tri-X look. I might have another go at it, though...

I think it's a lovely shot that really conveys the cold & has great light, but I would have treated it to a bit of noise ninja (or equiv) in the sky at least.
Believe me, I know the feeling. ;)
