Jo and jp, I put another more minimal version in the demo gallery per your suggestions. Here's the link...http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/107150390. camera shy

A real beauty.
And I totally agree with Jo's comments on minimalizing the content.

Thanks for the comments and ideas. The pinwheel is metallic, and the light really reflects with those odd patterns off the blades. Also, we made the pinwheel spin slowly to catch the blades in various degrees of movement; so some look like translucent shadows. Jo, I really like your idea of creating a very minimal photo here; and I'll have to play with that idea. If this wasn't a "wheel" challenge, I think you'd convince me to present the bare minimum too :) camera shy

Wonderful shot. It is a bit like beauty and the beast how the (minimal) face contrasts with the wildness of the pinwheel. If this was my photo I would be tempted to leave the pinwheel out and just have the face on the left and nothing but white space in the rest of the picture.

Wow! I first thought this is a flower! Cool treatment!

Wonderful image - I love the high-key exposure, and the really cool, distorted look of the pinwheel!

Very interesting pinwheel and very nice face too...

Cool shot, Camera Shy! Tried a metalic pinwheel shot, but it just wasn't working for me.---deb
