It does look like a book illustration. The town is kind of overpowered by its surroundings, at least from this vantage point. Where we live: does that mean all of us?

Fantastic! Everything is so dark & vertical & menacing. This looks like a steel engraving illustration for a book by Thomas Bernhard (one of my favorite authors).
