This is the same image, just small crop taken from it. I'm sorry, I have no idea what kind of tree it is. I think that the dizziness might come from the op-art style lines which probably mark annual growth and changes in the bark. I see lots of medieval characters, and strange creatures everywhere in this image.

Different tree I guess. The different layers perfectly match for the different shades of grey. Still it is hard for me to look on the image for a long time. Makes me a bit dizzy.
