Salmon at the gate at the Nimbus fish hatchery

They open the gate and let the salmon climb the ladder (a set of 1 foot waterfalls with swift running water) when they need more eggs to fertilize. The gate openings are not on any set schedule and I've never managed to be there when the gate was open.
