A large group of Lesser Goldfinches and one lone White-crowned Sparrow at the feeder in my backyard.

Male Lesser Goldfinches have a black cap and green back. American Goldfinches have a black cap but a gold back. The females of both look a lot alike, no cap and a green back. Lesser Goldfinches are smaller.

That quite the popular feeder you've got. Great capture.

You got quite a crowd there! I too love to feed birds in the winter. It's always fun to watch them, It's a very nice picture and the one flying in adds a little extra to it. Well done!

Goldfinches nest in our yard in midsummer. It's fun to see where they go to spend the winters!
