As yet unidentified (by me) wildflower.

I hiked the Carson Pass to Winnemucca Lake trail today. This is just one of the many wildflowers along the trail.

In Alaska we call this Fireweed. The buds bloom in the late summer and "burst" with cotton-like seeds in the early fall.

Very nice summer blossom. I believe this is called Fire Weed.
